Starrbide crucibles are particularly suitable for processes with frequently changing temperatures and high heating rates. Starrbide crucibles can be used for the holding of all non-ferrous alloys. They have a very high mechanical strength and a high refractoriness, making them especially suitable for melting heavy metal alloys. Additionally, they are resistant to chemical attack by fluxes. Starrbide crucibles are suitable for electric resistance heated and fuel-fired and induction furnaces. They perform well under difficult operating conditions.
As a consequence of user-related innovative developments, optimised Starrbide variants are available.
Starrbide HT / VO crucibles are particularly appropriate for melting copper and bronze alloys in furnaces with high power and high heating rates.
Starrbide U IND crucibles are suitable for medium frequency induction furnaces for melting and holding. They perform well under difficult operating conditions.
Starrbide HT / VO Typical Metal Casting Temperature
800°C - 1400°C (1472°F - 2552°F).
Starrbide U / U IND Typical Metal Casting Temperature
700°C - 1000°C (1292°F - 1832°F).
